THE 12th Annual East Austin Studio Tour (EAST) will once again spread across two weekends and will feature the work of more than 400 artists. I will be debuting some new work based on travels in Brazil.

ARTPOST: Applied Imagination

In January, 2011 I moved my studio to ARTPOST in East Austin. ARTPOST is a mecca of creativity and the studio home of more than 20 resident and visiting professional artists.
The ARTPOST Spring Opening features a diverse exhibition of new works including contemporary abstract painting, sculpture, jewelry, large format printmaking and more.

MOTHERS: Omnipresent Yet Under-represented in Visual Arts

I am honored to have my art included in this juried show that includes works by 37 women artists who address the culturally ubiquitous role of motherhood, historically under-represented in visual art. In addition to my work there are paintings, sculptures, printmaking, photography, and video works that speak to personal experiences, social constructions of motherhood, the balance of home and work, the politicization of mothers, pregnancy, breastfeeding, childbirth, bodily transformation, miscarriage, loss, and fertility/infertility. INSTALLATION OF "PERSEVERANCE" ARTWORK AT UNIVERSITY
In September 2010 my large commission piece "Perseverance" was installed and dedicated at Western Michigan University. The artwork honors past and present WMU football coaches and incorporates imagery, inscribed football plays and embedded pieces of pigskin and metal. More
